TEDxSV (satellite) aka “TEDxSV in a Box”

Hello and thanks so much for your interest in being a part of the first TEDxSV (Silicon Valley).
TEDxSV was sold out in less than 48 hours and because of the high demand we’ve decided to live-stream the event online and we’re thrilled to announce our newest initiative: TEDxSV(satellite).

What It Is

TEDxSV(Satellite) will be independently held satellite events around the TEDxSV live-stream on December 12th, 2009. Our goal is to promote deep active conversations around the talks, the artwork, and the great ideas worth spreading that TEDxSV speakers will offer.

We aspire to promote a lasting positive change, together with participants around the world, not only with people in our immediate vicinity of Silicon Valley. We believe that creating a vibrant live global conversation around the event will help promote and inspire Innovation for Social Change. As a TEDxSV(satellite) ambassador, you’ll be part of groups domestic and abroad taking part.

What do we need from you

For now, we’ll need: the name, email, phone and mailing address of your TEDxSV(satellite) ambassador.

Chris McCann and Jen McCabe will be your personal TEDxSV liaisons throughout this process and in return for your help we will be providing you with some mementos of the day and VIP access to program details so you’ll be prepared to talk, engage, and then dream alongside the TEDsters sitting at Stanford on Saturday December 12, 2009.

Speaker Set 1               10:30am – 12:15pm
Lunch Break                  12:15pm – 1:40
Speaker Set 2                1:40pm – 3:00pm
Break                            3:00 – 3:30pm
Speaker Set 3                3:30pm – 5pm

What’s needed to host a TEDx Satellite event

  1. Projector
  2. Projector Screen
  3. Computer with internet access for the livestream (here is where it will take place http://www.tedxsv.org/?page_id=100)
  4. Additional computers with internet for guests (to participate with us on facebook, twitter, chat)
  5. Room that seats all your guests
  6. And open mind and excitement for collaboration!

Even though TEDx’s are indie-organized, TED has some requirements if you’re going to use the name. If you want to publicize that you’re a TEDxSV(satellite) in the blogosphere, in a press release, etc, please shoot an email to your friendly TEDxSV(satellite) community liasons, Chris McCann (chris@tedxsv.org) and Jen McCabe (jen@tedxsv.org) prior to pushing the “publish” or “send” button. Email us with “TEDxSV(satellite)” in the subject line.
